Khaptad National Park and Rara Lake Trek are trekking in Nepal around two different famous places; Rara lake- the biggest lake and Khaptad National Park.  Khaptad National Park is a protected area in the Far-Western Region, Nepal that was established in 1984. Stretching over the four districts of Bajhang, Bajura, Achham, and Doti it covers an area of 225 km2 (87 sq mi) and ranges in elevation from 1,400 m to 3,300 m. It reportedly harbors 567 species which accounts for 11 percent of all the flowering plants of Nepal. The park offers excellent bird-watching opportunities, with 270 species of birds, the common ones being: Impheyan pheasant, partridges, flycatchers, bulbuls, cuckoos, and eagles. Khaptad National Park is also home to a rich variety of wild animals, such as barking deer, wild dogs, wild boar, Ghoral, Himalayan black bear, yellow-throated marten, rhesus macaque, and langur monkey.The trek then goes to Rara Lake; the biggest lake in Nepal. Rara Lake lies at an altitude of 2,990 m (9,810 ft) above sea level and has a water surface of 10.8 km2. Khaptad National Park and Rara Lake Trek also include collecting the best views of the Api and Saipal Himalayan ranges. The best time for trekking is spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). The months of winter (December to February) are also a good time for trekking. Although, the monsoon is not regarded as the best time for trekking.

Pisang Peak, situated amidst the massive mountain ranges of Annapurna I and Manaslu, is a non-expedition peak in Nepal. The peak rises from Pisang village and yak pastures in a uniform slope of ice and snow to its summit. It is known as one of the simpler climbing peaks in Nepal. The trail leading to the base camp from Pisang town passes through sparse woods and fields and reaches a Kharka at 4,380m, the perfect spot for setting up the base camp. The high camp is set up on the South-West ridge at an altitude of 5,400m, mostly covered by snow during Spring and Autumn. The well-defined ridge leads to the final snow slope, which is steep but not too difficult to reach the summit.
