Overview

The Dhorpatan Cultural Trek is an incredible 20-day trek in Nepal, offering a unique blend of cultural and natural diversity. The trek is closely linked to the history of the Maoist Guerrilla movement (2052 B.S to 2063 B.S), and takes you through stunning landscapes, starting from Dharband and ending at Syarpu Lake, allowing you to experience the beauty of the Dhaulagiri massif.

As part of the Guerilla trek, you will cross the famous Jajala Pass and eventually, arrive at the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve - the only hunting reserve in Nepal and a major tourist attraction for those interested in hunting tours. In addition, the region is steeped in spiritual significance, with 22 water taps, a Bonpo monastery, and a Tibetan Ayurvedic school.

Throughout the trek, you will encounter several breathtaking attractions, including Shyarpu Lake, Kamal lake (Lotus), Baunna Pokhari, and Eksaya Tripanna Taal. The route is dotted with stunning waterfalls and provides stunning views of the Annapurna range, the beautiful landscape of the Rukum Valley, and a diverse range of landscapes.

One of the highlights of the Dhorpatan Cultural Trek is observing the mixed culture of the Pun Magar and Gurung people. Additionally, you will enjoy magnificent views of the Putha (7246 m), Gurga (7193 m), Churen (7371 m), and Dhogari (7193 m) mountains.

The best times to embark on the Dhorpatan Cultural Trek are during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). While the trek can also be done during the winter months, it is not recommended during the monsoon season (June to August).
