The Mardi Himal Yoga Trek is a hidden gem located near one of the most popular trails of Annapurna Sanctuary. It's a newly opened trail, which means that few trekkers make their way to Mardi Himal Base Camp. This leads to a peaceful and relatively empty trail that provides an opportunity to get up close and personal with the sacred Machhapuchhre mountain.
From the High Camp, trekkers can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Annapurna range and the surrounding area from a bird's eye view. This trek is perfect for those seeking unspoiled nature and solitude, away from the crowds and commerce. In addition to the scenic beauty, this trek also offers a great cultural experience. On the descent through a different trail, trekkers get to witness local life in traditional villages like Siding and Lwang.
Lwang, in particular, is famous for its organic tea plantation, stone-paved streets, and great mountain views. The trail leads through magical rhododendron forests until it abruptly changes into a rough high mountain landscape with amazing views of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli.
There are simple teahouses and homestays along the way, and trekkers are likely to encounter very few other trekkers in this secluded and pristine region. The lack of disturbance by many other trekkers also increases the chance to encounter wildlife.
