Overview

The Nagarkot Sunrise Tour is the ideal way to witness the sunrise over the Himalayas in Nepal. The Nagarkot viewpoint is located 32 km from Kathmandu and can be reached in about an hour. The tour requires an early start as you need to be there before the sun rises. The Nagarkot is known for its stunning sunrise views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, and the Indrawati river valley. After sunrise, you will have time for breakfast and a hike to the Chagunarayan Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, which is considered one of the oldest temples in Nepal with a history dating back to the 4th century. After visiting the temple, you will have lunch and then be transferred back to your hotel. The tour is available every day from Kathmandu and must be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance. The guide will collect you from your hotel in the morning for the sunrise.

Day 1 : kathmandu - Nagarkot - Kathmandu

Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you on a scenic 35km drive to Nagarkot via Bhaktapur, which takes about an hour. Upon arrival at Nagarkot, you'll witness a breathtaking sunrise and marvel at the stunning panoramic views of the majestic mountains from the top. After spending some time enjoying the tranquil beauty of the surroundings, we'll drive to a hotel with a viewpoint where you can relish a delicious breakfast. Following breakfast, hike to the Chagunarayan Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, which is considered one of the oldest temples in Nepal with a history dating back to the 4th century. After visiting the temple, you will have lunch and then be transferred back to your hotel, we'll drive back the same way and drop you off at your hotel.
