Overview

Mountain biking from Muktinath to Pokhara takes us from holy Muktinath temple in the foothills of mount Annapurna to the beautiful city of lakes Pokhara. Muktinath temple is a sacred place for both Buddhists and Hindus. Muktinath is also well known for its unceasing fire fueled from natural gas. Muktinath temple offers mesmerizing views of the mount Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche Peak and other 8,000m pinnacles. Jomsom is a major town near Muktinath temple. It is mostly inhibited by Thakali ethnic group who have mixed lifestyle of Nepali and Tibetan. Riding on the rough, wide and single tracks from Muktinath, we descend gradually to the wonderful Pokhara city lying on the lower region of Annapurna Mountain Range.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu

Our representative will pick you up at the international airport and drive you to the hotel. After then you will take a meandering evening walk with your guide through Kathmandu’s heritage sites, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together.

Day 2 : Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing and Pre trip meeting

Embark on a morning sightseeing tour after the pre-trip meeting. Enjoy the comfort of a private vehicle and the expertise of a professional tour guide. Start by visiting Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist shrines in the world, where you will witness Buddhist monks in prayer at the surrounding monasteries. Then, proceed to Pashupatinath, the revered Hindu temple located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River, and observe Hindu holy men meditating and pilgrims bathing. Next, we visit Swayambhunath, also known as the Monkey Temple, a Buddhist stupa located atop a hillock on the western side offering panoramic views of the valley. Spend the rest of the day in Kathmandu exploring and shopping in Thamel. Overnight stay at a hotel

Day 3 : Kathmandu to Pokhara(830m) by tourist bus

At 6:30 am, our staff will meet you at the hotel and accompany you to the bus station. The bus to Pokhara departs at approximately 7:00 am, with a journey time of 6 hours including a lunch break. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the stunning valley of Pokhara, located along the banks of Phewa Lake and renowned for its breathtaking views of the Annapurna, Machapuchare, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, and Manaslu peaks. Enjoy a relaxed evening in Pokhara, a tranquil destination that offers a contrast to the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 4 : Fly to Jomsom (2700m) , assemble the bike and bike to Kagbeni (2900m)

Experience the thrill of flying into Jomsom, with several flights available each day before the onset of the Kali Gandaki winds. Upon landing, assemble your bikes to acclimate to the altitude and weather. Take a leisurely ride along the flat river trail to Kagbeni, a historic border town of the once-forbidden Mustang Kingdom. Spend the night at a hotel.

Day 5 : Bike ride from Kagbeni to Muktinath(3800m)

Start the day with an early breakfast and embark on a challenging uphill ride, ascending nearly 1,000 meters in elevation, towards Muktinath. This is the highest point of the trip and presents a stark, desert-like landscape. You may encounter a few trekkers and pilgrims en route to the holy temple in Muktinath, known for its eternal flame fueled by a natural gas source. Reaching this cultural and religious site with magnificent mountain views is a remarkable accomplishment. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 6 : Bike Ride from Muktinath to Tatopani(1190m)

Take in the breathtaking views of the Dhaulagiri and other towering peaks as we embark on a thrilling descent. Along the way, witness the centuries-old lifestyle of the local people as we pass by yak herds. Our journey takes us through Lupra, where black magic and human sacrifices are a part of the community rituals. We conclude our day in Marpha, a charming village known for its picturesque flagstone streets and apple orchards. Try the local apple wine and brandy while taking in the scenic surroundings. As we continue our descent towards Tato Pani (hot water), enjoy the fantastic downhill ride. At the end of the day, soothe your tired muscles in the natural hot springs beside the Kali Gandaki River, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 7 : Tatopani to Pokhara

Continuing our descent, we follow the Kali Gandaki River to reach Beni and the Baglung highway. We then travel up the highway to Nau Danda and take a dirt road to Sarangkot, the top viewpoint in Pokhara to witness the stunning Himalayas during sunrise and sunset. Today, we tackle a steep and narrow trail on our way to Pokhara. Before starting the 90% downhill ride, make sure to check your brakes. Pokhara serves as the starting or ending point for many popular treks in Nepal and is known for its breathtaking views of the Fishtail mountains over the serene lakes. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 8 : Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist Bus

After the exhilarating biking trip, we head back to Kathmandu via tourist bus. Take a leisurely walk and indulge in some last-minute shopping in the bustling streets of Thamel and Basantapur. To celebrate our hard work and amazing journey, we'll have a farewell dinner at a traditional Nepalese-style restaurant featuring cultural performances, including dancing and singing in vibrant costumes. For those who are seeking more adventure, there are plenty of options available to extend your trip - including a Chitwan jungle safari, rafting, bungee jumping, a scenic Everest flight, and other exciting activities. Overnight at a hotel.

Day 9 : Departure to your destination

Your journey home begins today. Our representatives from Trek Around Himalayas will escort you to the International Airport in accordance with your flight schedule.
