Upon your arrival at the airport, be greeted by our representative waiting outside the terminal. They will escort you to the centrally located hotel in Kathmandu, and assist with the check-in process. After settling in, you can choose to relax at the hotel or visit our Trek Around Himalayas office to gather information about your trip. To cap off your first day, we will treat you to a warm welcome dinner.
After enjoying a satisfying breakfast at the hotel, you'll head to Tribhuvan International Airport for an early morning flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu and the entire Everest Region. Upon arrival, your trek will commence with a gentle ascent along the left bank of the Dudh Koshi River, passing by several Mani walls en route to Ghat. From there, you'll experience a combination of uphill and downhill hiking as you proceed toward Phakding.
On this day, you'll trek alongside the Dudhkoshi and Bhotekoshi rivers, crossing multiple suspension bridges. If you're fortunate, you may catch a glimpse of Mount Everest and Lhotse while making your way up to Namche Bazaar through the pine forest. The hike will involve a mix of uphill and downhill walking. Upon arriving at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park, you'll stop to register before embarking on a steady ascent towards Namche Bazaar, the heart of the Sherpa community. You'll stay an extra day in Namche Bazaar to explore the area and adjust to the high altitude.
We'll start the day early with a hike up to the Everest View Hotel, situated about an hour's walk above Namche. There, you'll be treated to a stunning panoramic view of the Himalayas, including Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. After soaking in the view and enjoying a hot coffee, we'll continue on to the traditional Sherpa villages of Khunde and Khumjung. If you have the chance, ask your guide to take you to the Khumjung Monastery, which is believed to house the scalp of a Yeti. After visiting the villages, we'll loop back to Namche through the small airstrip at Shyangboche
Following breakfast, we'll set off towards the Hillary Suspension Bridge and make our way through various local villages. Upon reaching Lukla, we'll spend the evening at our final Tea House, and as per tradition, we'll celebrate with the trekking crew. Congratulations, you've made it! Thanks to your perseverance and excellent teamwork, you've achieved a remarkable physical feat that others can only dream of. This is your final night on the mountain, and it can be a mix of emotions.
Start your day with a filling breakfast, then board an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be taken to the hotel. Take some time to rest, or explore the bustling streets of Thamel. Walking around Thamel is a great way to experience the sights and sounds of Kathmandu. To celebrate the successful completion of the trek, Trek Around Himalayas will host a farewell dinner in the evening where you can sit and reflect on your journey.
Your journey home begins today. Our representatives from Trek Around Himalayas will escort you to the International Airport in accordance with your flight schedule. It's recommended to arrive at the airport three hours before your flight. Trek Around Himalayas will provide a fond farewell, ensuring that your experience with us is remembered forever.
