Upon your arrival at the airport, be greeted by our representative waiting outside the terminal. They will escort you to the centrally located hotel in Kathmandu, and assist with the check-in process. After settling in, you can choose to relax at the hotel or visit our Trek Around Himalayas office to gather information about your trip. To cap off your first day, we will treat you to a warm welcome dinner.
After an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, enjoy one of the world's most scenic mountain flights, offering spectacular views of the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region, meet your trekking crew and begin your adventure. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River through charming Sherpa villages, crossing mani walls and suspension bridges along the way. Passing through Cheplung and Ghat, enjoy views of the sacred Khumbila Peak before continuing on a gentle trail to Phakding. The pleasant walk through traditional settlements and beautiful mountain scenery makes for a perfect introduction to the Everest trek.
Today you will trek along Dudhkoshi and Bhotekoshi rivers crossing several suspension bridges. If lucky you may get the first glimpse of Mount Everest and Lhotse while trekking up to Namche Bazar. Through the pine forest. You will experience a combination of uphill and downhill walking. You will halt at the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park for registration purposes, following which you will make a steady ascent towards Namche Bazaar, the hub of the Sherpa community. You will spend an additional day in Namche Bazaar, exploring the area and acclimatizing to the high altitude.
Take a much-needed break in Namche to acclimate your body to the high altitude. The principle of "hike high, sleep low" will be followed, as you hike to higher elevations and return to lower altitudes for rest. On your acclimatization day, embark on a trip to Namche Bazaar, a very bright beautiful Sherpa village ascending about 300m to the town of Khumjung to have stunning views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Damblam, Kongde, Thamserku and many more. Discover local monasteries and schools along the way.
Leaving Khumjung behind, the trail climbs gradually, rewarding trekkers with magnificent views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and other Himalayan peaks. The route then descends through rhododendron and pine forests toward the Dudh Koshi Valley before continuing northward into the heart of the Khumbu region. Along the way, pass the beautiful Mong La area, home to a small monastery set beneath the sacred peak of Khumbila. From here, descend along a scenic trail to Phortse Thanga, a peaceful riverside settlement surrounded by forests and mountain landscapes. Overnight stay at Phortse Thanga.
Today’s trek takes you from Phortse Thanga to Machhermo, following a gradual ascent through the beautiful Gokyo Valley. The trail winds through rhododendron and juniper forests, past cascading waterfalls, and along scenic mountain slopes with increasingly impressive views of Cho Oyu, Thamserku, and Kangtega. Passing through the small settlements of Tongba, Dole, Labarma, and Luza, you will experience the peaceful atmosphere of traditional Sherpa villages. As the altitude increases, the landscape becomes more rugged and alpine. After several hours of steady climbing, arrive at Machhermo, a charming mountain village known for its stunning Himalayan scenery and rich mountaineering history.
Today's trek leads you deeper into the spectacular Gokyo Valley, one of the most scenic regions in the Everest Himalayas. The trail ascends gradually with stunning views of Cho Oyu (8,188m), the sixth-highest mountain in the world, along with other surrounding peaks. Crossing streams and following rugged mountain paths, you will reach the edge of the immense Ngozumpa Glacier, the longest glacier in Nepal. Continuing onward, pass the shimmering turquoise waters of Longpongo Lake, Taboche Lake, and Dudh Pokhari, whose crystal-clear surfaces beautifully reflect the surrounding mountains. Nestled beside the third lake, the picturesque village of Gokyo offers a breathtaking setting for an overnight stay.
Today is dedicated to exploring the breathtaking Gokyo Valley. An early morning hike to Gokyo Ri (5,357m) rewards you with one of the finest panoramic viewpoints in the Everest region. From the summit, enjoy spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and countless Himalayan peaks stretching across the horizon. The clear and unobstructed view of Mount Everest standing majestically before you is truly unforgettable. After descending, spend the rest of the day exploring the serene Gokyo Lakes and the beautiful surroundings of Ngozumpa Glacier. The tranquil blue waters and stunning mountain scenery make this a highlight of the entire trek.
Today's trek takes you across the rugged terrain of the Gokyo Valley toward the peaceful settlement of Dragnag. The trail follows a relatively gentle route with only a few short ascents, making for a comfortable day of trekking. Along the way, enjoy magnificent views of Everest, Cho Oyu, and surrounding snow-capped peaks, with Mount Everest standing proudly above the Himalayan skyline. Crossing glacial landscapes and rocky paths, you will arrive at the small mountain village of Dragnag, where you can relax and prepare for the next adventure ahead.
Today is one of the most exciting and challenging days of the trek as you cross the spectacular Cho La Pass (5,420m). The trail traverses rugged terrain, glacial sections, and rocky slopes, requiring careful footing and determination. Along the way, breathtaking views of surrounding peaks and frozen alpine landscapes make every step worthwhile. Upon reaching the pass, colorful prayer flags flutter in the mountain breeze, marking your achievement and offering magnificent panoramic views of the Himalayas. After enjoying the scenery, descend through glacial moraines and rocky trails to the peaceful village of Dzongla, surrounded by the towering peaks of Cholatse, Ama Dablam, and Lobuche.
Leaving the peaceful village of Dzongla, the trail follows a scenic route beneath the towering faces of Cholatse and Taboche. The path gradually ascends across rugged alpine terrain, offering magnificent views of Ama Dablam, Lobuche Peak, and surrounding Himalayan giants. As you trek through glacial valleys and rocky landscapes, the dramatic mountain scenery becomes increasingly impressive. After several hours of steady walking, the trail joins the main Everest Base Camp route near Lobuche. Surrounded by snow-capped peaks and glacial moraines, Lobuche (4,940m) provides a spectacular setting for an overnight stay in the heart of the Khumbu region.
Today is one of the most anticipated days of the trek as you journey from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,170m), the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. Following the rugged trail alongside the Khumbu Glacier, enjoy spectacular views of Nuptse, Pumori, and other towering Himalayan peaks. After reaching Gorak Shep and a short rest, continue to the legendary Everest Base Camp (5,364m). Standing at the foot of the world's highest mountain, surrounded by glaciers and dramatic ice formations, is an unforgettable experience. After celebrating this remarkable achievement, return to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay amidst the stunning Himalayan landscape.
An early morning hike to Kala Patthar (5,555m) is the highlight of the Everest Base Camp Trek and offers one of the best viewpoints in the Everest region. After a challenging ascent, witness a breathtaking sunrise over Mount Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse, and countless Himalayan peaks. Today’s trek takes you from Pheriche back to the vibrant Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar, following a scenic route through the heart of the Everest region. Descend through Pangboche, one of the oldest Sherpa settlements in the Khumbu, surrounded by magnificent views of Ama Dablam and other Himalayan peaks. Cross the Imja Khola and continue through rhododendron and pine forests to Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery. From here, the trail descends to the Dudh Koshi River before gradually climbing to Namche Bazaar. Enjoy the comforts of this bustling mountain town and celebrate your incredible journey through the Everest Himalayas.
Today marks the final day of trekking as you descend from Namche Bazaar to Lukla. Following the Dudh Koshi River, the trail passes through charming Sherpa villages, pine forests, suspension bridges, and traditional settlements such as Monjo and Phakding. Enjoy your last views of the Everest region while retracing the scenic route through Sagarmatha National Park. After approximately 7 hours of trekking, arrive in Lukla and celebrate the successful completion of your unforgettable Everest adventure with your trekking crew.
After an early breakfast, board a scenic mountain flight from Lukla to Kathmandu, marking the end of your unforgettable Everest Base Camp adventure. During the flight, enjoy one last glimpse of the majestic Himalayas, including the peaks and valleys you have explored over the past days. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax, explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, shop for souvenirs, or celebrate your successful journey with fellow trekkers. Overnight stay at your hotel in Kathmandu.
