This day is mainly for relaxation and preparation as you acclimate to the local environment and get ready for the adventure ahead.
After an early breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel around 6:30 am and accompany you to the tourist bus station for the scenic journey to Pokhara. Traveling along the famous Prithvi Highway, the route winds through picturesque river valleys, terraced hillsides, lush forests, and traditional rural settlements, offering an authentic glimpse of Nepal’s countryside. The drive typically takes 6–7 hours, although occasional delays may occur due to ongoing road expansion works between Naubise and Mugling. Upon arrival in Pokhara in the afternoon, transfer to your hotel and check in. The rest of the day is free to relax or enjoy a leisurely stroll around the vibrant Lakeside area. Overnight at Hotel Crown Himalayan or a similar category hotel.
After breakfast at your hotel in Pokhara, drive approximately 2–3 hours to Hile, passing through picturesque villages and terraced farmlands. Upon arrival, begin your trek along a scenic trail that gradually ascends through traditional settlements and lush hillsides. Cross suspension bridges and enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding countryside before reaching Ulleri, a charming Magar village known for its stone-paved pathways. The trek takes around 4 hours and serves as an excellent introduction to the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek. Overnight stay at a teahouse in Ulleri.
After breakfast in Ulleri, begin your trek towards Ghorepani through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. The trail gradually ascends, offering refreshing mountain scenery and occasional views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. Pass through small settlements and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Annapurna region. During spring, the forest is adorned with colorful blooming rhododendrons, creating a spectacular landscape. After approximately 5–6 hours of trekking, arrive at Ghorepani, a popular mountain village and gateway to Poon Hill. Enjoy the surrounding Himalayan views and overnight stay at a teahouse in Ghorepani.
Early in the morning, hike to Poon Hill (3,210m), one of the most famous viewpoints in the Annapurna region. Witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Himalayan giants, including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Nilgiri. After enjoying the panoramic mountain scenery and taking photographs, return to your lodge in Ghorepani for breakfast. Later, begin trekking towards Tadapani and further down to Chuile through dense rhododendron and oak forests, following scenic ridgelines with occasional mountain views. The trail includes both ascents and descents, offering diverse landscapes and peaceful surroundings. After approximately 5–6 hours of trekking, arrive at Tadapani, a beautiful settlement surrounded by forest and spectacular Himalayan vistas. Overnight at a teahouse.
After a hearty breakfast in Tadapani, set off on a pleasant trek through lush rhododendron and oak forests. The trail gently descends to Kimrong Khola, where you can enjoy the peaceful sounds of the river and surrounding nature. After crossing the suspension bridge, begin a steady climb through terraced fields and traditional Gurung villages. Along the way, take in beautiful views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). As you approach Chhomrong, the gateway to the Annapurna Sanctuary, the mountain scenery becomes even more impressive. After 5–6 hours of trekking, arrive in Chhomrong and settle into your teahouse for the night.
After breakfast in Chhomrong, the day begins with a descent along the village’s famous stone staircases to the Chhomrong Khola. Crossing a suspension bridge, the trail then climbs steadily through the charming settlements of Lower and Upper Sinuwa, rewarding trekkers with beautiful forest scenery and occasional mountain glimpses. Beyond Sinuwa, the route enters the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary, winding through serene bamboo and rhododendron forests where the sounds of birds and rushing streams accompany the journey.
Passing Bamboo, the trail follows the Modi Khola deeper into the valley, surrounded by towering cliffs and lush vegetation. The peaceful atmosphere becomes increasingly captivating as you approach Dovan. After a rewarding day of trekking, arrive at this tranquil riverside settlement and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay at a teahouse.
Leaving Dovan behind, the trail follows the beautiful Modi Khola valley, gradually ascending through a dramatic landscape that becomes increasingly alpine with every step. As the dense forest begins to thin, trekkers are rewarded with striking views of rugged cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and the towering peaks that guard the Annapurna Sanctuary. Along the way, pass the small sacred shrine of Pujinim Barah, a place of spiritual significance for local communities.
After a refreshing break at Himalaya, continue through a spectacular gorge toward Hinku Cave, where the valley narrows beneath towering rock walls. The trail then climbs steadily through glacial terrain, offering an ever-changing mountain backdrop. As you approach Deurali, snow-covered slopes and high-altitude scenery create a true Himalayan atmosphere. Nestled beneath impressive cliffs and surrounded by pristine wilderness, Deurali provides a memorable overnight stop before the final ascent into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary.
Today is one of the most rewarding days of the trek as you journey into the heart of the magnificent Annapurna Sanctuary. After breakfast at Deurali, the trail ascends gradually through a breathtaking alpine landscape, following the glacial valley toward Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m). As the forest disappears, the scenery transforms into a dramatic world of snowfields, rugged moraine, and towering Himalayan peaks. The iconic Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain) dominates the skyline, while the crisp mountain air and vast wilderness create an unforgettable trekking experience.
After a short rest at Machhapuchhre Base Camp, continue along the scenic trail toward Annapurna Base Camp. The route climbs gently across the sanctuary floor, surrounded by some of the highest and most beautiful mountains in Nepal. With every step, the views become more spectacular as Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, and other majestic peaks form a stunning natural amphitheater around you.
Upon reaching Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m), take time to absorb the extraordinary surroundings and celebrate your achievement. As evening approaches, witness a magical sunset casting golden light across the snow-covered peaks, creating one of the most memorable moments of the entire trek. Overnight stay at a comfortable mountain lodge at Annapurna Base Camp.
After enjoying a spectacular sunrise at Annapurna Base Camp, begin the descent through the breathtaking Annapurna Sanctuary. Retrace the trail past Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Deurali, Himalaya, and Dovan, surrounded by magnificent mountain views and glacial landscapes. As you lose elevation, the terrain gradually changes from alpine wilderness to lush forests of bamboo and rhododendron. The warmer air and greener surroundings create a refreshing contrast to the high-altitude environment. Although the day involves a long descent, the scenic beauty makes the journey enjoyable. After 6–7 hours of trekking, arrive at Bamboo for a relaxing overnight stay in a cozy teahouse.
After breakfast, begin the trek through peaceful bamboo and rhododendron forests toward Upper and Lower Sinuwa. The trail descends gradually to the Chhomrong Khola before a challenging climb up the stone steps to Chhomrong, the most demanding section of the day. From Chhomrong, continue downhill through beautiful terraced fields, traditional villages, and forested hillsides to reach Jhinu Danda. After checking into your teahouse, enjoy an optional visit to the natural hot springs beside the Modi Khola, reached by a short downhill walk. Relax in the soothing waters before returning to the lodge for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, enjoy a pleasant final walk from Jhinu Danda to Samrung, following scenic village trails and crossing a long suspension bridge over the rushing Modi Khola. Surrounded by terraced hillsides and traditional settlements, this easy trek offers a relaxing conclusion to your Annapurna Base Camp adventure. Upon reaching Samrung, meet your private jeep for the drive back to Pokhara, which takes approximately 2–3 hours through picturesque countryside. After arriving in Pokhara, transfer to your lakeside hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Relax by Phewa Lake, explore the vibrant Lakeside area, or simply celebrate the successful completion of your trek.
After breakfast, board a comfortable tourist bus for the scenic journey back to Kathmandu.
